Crime Watch

At our February 9th meeting we had a large turnout and a Crime Watch presentation from Office Connie Gray and our Community Liaison Officer Robert Kuhnow. Let's Keep it going!

Thank you to all that were able to attend. I don't have a count yet but we had a good turnout. I am so thankful that many of our neighbors want to keep our community safe.

This meeting was the 3rd of the Crime Watch Meetings. This was a training for those that chose to sign up for COP (Citizens on Patrol). In brief, this is for citizens of Strawberry Hills who agree to volunteer for a couple of hours a week to patrol the neighborhood by car or on foot. This is not an in-your-face patrol but it could be done while walking the dog or taking your afternoon jog or by car at night. The volunteer will have a background check and a picture badge and will check in when going on patrol. They are eyes and ears for law enforcement.
If anyone is interested or wants more information please e-mail me.

I was glad to hear that neighbors are becoming more aware and warning other neighbors if they see something suspicious.
Please keep an eye on empty homes and remove newspapers etc. from the driveways.

Another nearby community was able to get rid of the bad elements by patrolling and joining the regular Crime Watch. We can do this too!

Thanks to all our members whether they are able to attend the meetings or not. Your help and concern are appreciated. Please call or email me if you have concerns or questions or want to join. No fee is involved.
